About the Show
What goes better together than classic rock and a beer? A beer brewed in honor of classic rock, of course! The beer craftsman at Bluegrass Brewing Company have brewed a new seasonal beer dubbed Jam Sessions Ale, in honor of the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet’s engagement at the Kentucky Center (February 12 through February 17). The new draught will be unveiled for tapping on January 24 at BBC’s St. Matthews location (3929 Shelbyville Road) at 5 PM.
Jeremy Hunt, the brewmaster who crafted Jam Sessions Ale, describes the draught as “an easy to drink, straw colored, balanced, sociable ale.” Made from what Hunt describes as “the finest malted barley and hops that money can buy,” the Quartet-inspired brew is one that Hunt said he would want to share with the show’s central characters: rock legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Jam Sessions Ale will be available at all BBC locations beginning January 25.
Million Dollar Quartet is a musical inspired by the momentous recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Presley, Cash, Lewis and Perkins for the only time in their careers. The show features the classic hits “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Walk the Line” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.”
The show stars Cody Slaughter as Presley, David Elkins as Cash, Ben Goddard as Lewis and James Barry as Perkins. The production is directed by Eric Schaeffer.
